The word gimp is offensive to some people. It is an American slang word meaning someone with a limp or a person with a disability. We don’t find it offensive. I find that it’s better to use “gimp” than the more politically correct words of today’s society - in casual company, that is.
“My sister is handicapped.”
“My sister is disabled.”
“My sister has MS.”
“My sister is a gimp and we get to park in front at the mall.”
More on the word 'Gimp' from The Gimp.
ReplyDeleteStarted using it when I got my permanent handicap hang tag. We really would get to park in 'primo' spaces.
It got to be funny and we used the phrase, 'It pays to travel with a Gimp'.
Then it became more than that...it is a way of 'lightening' up an otherwise 'heavy' disease. Humor is good medicine.
